While we are located in central Alberta, we represent manual osteopathic therapists nationwide. Our members enjoy the freedom of traveling and working within the provinces and territories throughout Canada. This removes the hassle of joining new associations in each province.

We provide membership options for those actively working in the industry through our Active Membership category and for those who are not currently working through our Inactive Membership category. We also have an Honorary Membership that is bestowed by the board upon any member or non-member who has by meritorious service supported NMOS and its objectives.

Manual Osteopathy is under-represented nationwide; we invite you to join NMOS in promoting our community and connecting with those seeking effective, safe, and natural treatments.

Philosophy of Practice

The musculoskeletal system is intimately connected with all other systems of the body, and is a mirror of both health and disease.

Body structure and function are intimately related. Any abnormality in the structure or function of a body part may lead to disorder and disease in another.

The body has the inherent ability to defend and repair itself. When normal adaptability is disrupted, or when environmental changes overcome the body’s capacity for self-maintenance, disorder or disease may result.

Rational treatment is based on these preceding principles.
