On Friday, June 11, 2021 manual osteopaths can reopen for business following our COVID-19 Workplace Protocols.
The Ontario government has released the details for the Step 1 of the Reopening Ontario plan in the amendment to the Ontario Regulation 82/20 document. The updated document, approved on June 7, 2021, has an amendment to Schedule 7 Businesses that May Open at Step 1 added the section 50.1 Osteopathic manual practitioners.
This amendment comes after months of many emails, phone calls and letters to the government requesting that Manual osteopaths be recognized as essential services to the people of Ontario. Today we have received that validation. Thank you for your patience and your support as we worked to get this amendment. We are so proud to have you as our members and look forward to you getting back to your clients and begin the healing.
NMOS members who are Active in good standing are eligible to return to their practices as of June 11. If you have transitioned to inactive status, you must reactivate your membership prior to accepting clients. Please contact the office immediately for more information. The reactivation process can take 3-5 business days.
Should there be conflicting information between NMOS and the Ministry of Health, provincial and local health guidelines should be followed.
